Greater New Orleans led the movement for a constitutional amendment
to consolidate the seven tax assessors offices in Orleans Parish into
one office.
Levee Board Reform: Citizens for 1 Greater New Orleans led the movement for levee board consolidation and reform which will provide for greater flood protection for all residents of the state’s largest metro area.
Criminal Justice Reform: Citizens for 1 has identified public safety concerns as being in need of immediate and thorough attention to insure the successful rebuilding of our city.
Educational Reform: Our position is that legislators should refrain from making any structural changes to the system of public schools in New Orleans to allow new Superintendents Paul Pasterek and Paul Vallas and other public education leaders time to enact their action plan focused on strengthening schools.
Ethics Reform: Citizens for 1 Greater New Orleans strongly supported the local ethics initiatives that were launched in New Orleans last year. We want to keep the momentum going by being actively involved in the legislative process and to let our voice be heard.
